The morning of our departure arrived. Raegan, her Mom and her Dad, arrived at my sister’s house to pick me up and drive us to the ship’s port in Miami.
The hour-long car ride was quiet except for the excited word-bursts that detonated, serving to diffuse the atmosphere, a mixture of apprehension and excitement.
We arrive at the port. A massive ship, gorgeous and strong, majestic in size, sat in the waters of the Atlantic Ocean, a covered gangway leading from 2nd floor platform that was connected to the first floor check-in area by escalators and stairways.
Raegan’s Mom started to get emotional. I assured her that everything would be okay. We all hugged.
